"I love the freedom to create, the endless possibilities astound me, and the daily adventure of knowing that I will never know everything and can always learn something new."

Achievements:

My list of credits include many commercials, movies, covers of magazines, editorial photo shoots. Each one has been a milestone and something I have been excited to see in print or flashed across the TV screen.

Celebrity clientele:

My list of clients is extensive and I am fortunate that I get to do many celebrities having built a great foundation over 20 years in Los Angeles. There are people that I have done and then there are the loyal clients who have stuck with me over all the years , they would be Jamie lee Curtis, Jamie Pressley , Eugene Levy, Christopher Guest , famed singers  Leonard Cohen Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson, Sissy SpaceK , Weird Al, Maria Bello And Many More.

What are your 3 favorite René Furterer products? Why?

Vegetal finishing spray, it has an amazing flexible hold and a fantastic scent.

The next would be the NATURIA dry shampoo. Working with models and doing fashion shows, quite often there is no place to shampoo the hair, this can be a real life saver.

And my third favorite would be the vegetal mousse. Its setting capabilities are amazing, its brushable pliability is unmatched, and it has a fantastic nutritious element that gives great luster.

Biography:

In 1989 celebrity hairstylist Sean James’ talents as a wigmaker brought him to America on a special visa. After finishing a four year apprenticeship learning the Vidal Sassoon method under Australia’s leading stylist Oscar Cullinan, he was encouraged to explore the world. During his first week in the U.S. he worked on the South African short film, "Senzanai "Look What We've Done," which was later nominated for an Oscar. Sean's destiny had begun.

He then moved to London for two years, where he gained his sense of style and received a great education in fashion working with the crew from Vivienne Westwood. With his new appreciation for fashion, he returned to fashion-thirsty Los Angeles, where he worked at the Fred Segal Salon in Santa Monica.  Additionally, he became an educator and color specialist at the Los Angeles Flagship store for L’Oreal, training young stylists.  In 2001, Sean became a part of the creative team for Redken, keying many fashion shows, including Dolce and Gabanna, Valentino, Gucci, Balmain, and Burberry working in London, New York and Paris. My Styling Tip

  • Step 1

To prep hair for styling, work VOLUMEA volumizing foam through the hair and quickly blow-dry to smooth out any frizziness.

  • Step 2

Next, part hair on the side to create a sophisticated line.

  • Step 3

Starting at the crown divide hair into three-inch-wide sections and, one by one, spray each section with the vegetal finishing spray and curl hair using a one-inch curling iron, securing each curl with a pin-curl clip. Curl hair in the front, around the part, last, starting on the left side of the part. Take sections in sort of a pie shape, in an arc around the part.

  • Step 4

Once all sections cool, remove clips and brush through. Spritz hair with glossing spray for extra shine. Finish the look by spraying hair with vegetal finishing spray for long-lasting hold.
